We bought our 2009 Northstar Igloo 9.9 new from a dealer in 2011. We have owned truck campers before and were wanting to get back into this style of camping. I researched on the internet and by all accounts Northstar and their customer service were outstanding. With this knowledge we drove 12 hrs and saw our camper for the first time. It was love at first sight. Not too big, not too small. After I got it home, I e mailed Rex asking him questions etc. He replied to send some pictures so he could make an educated guess. He even talked to me on the phone for close to an hour and I have e mailed several times since always getting a reply. How many VP's can you do that with these days? We just love our camper. It is very warm and quiet. We sleep in it the first night we drove home with it and although the furnace was not running we stayed warm under a blanket or two. We were a little puzzled about the cassette toilet but you know what? this is the best thing yet for camping. We are going to buy a cargo trailer to haul our motorcycle around and what better set up than a truck camper. We are most impressed with the Northstar build quality and more impressed with Rex and his time to talk to us. This speaks volumes on their companies commitment to their customers rather than treat them like a number. As a result we are now planning a road trip from the great white north down to Iowa and meet Rex et al in person.

Hello Rex and Rory,

My wife and I want to thank you. First off, we have had a great 10 years with our Northstar 8.5 Adventurer. We bought it for the low emission construction which allowed us to enjoy it from day one. We have continued to appreciate it's quality construction and durability ever since. We have clocked 100's of thousands of miles with it without a single issue or complaint. We are "long-distance grandparents" and only get to see the grandkids a few times a year. When we get to them , whether at our home, theirs, or a campground somewhere , grandma and grandpa's camper has always been the focus of the get-together. Sleeping, eating or just watching TV, everything is more fun in the camper. We know the kids will never forget that part of their young years with us.

The reason for this note, however, it to thank you for your incredible help with parts and service after we were rear-ended this past fall. Even though the damage was significant, the camper looked and felt like new again by the time you finished with it. You really came through for us and we appreciate it.

We have some retirement decisions to make in the next little while and one of them is eventually buying a new camper. When we do, you'll be hearing from us.

Cheers!

Here a couple of photos from Kennedy Meadows Campground. Brought the the dirt bike on the Joe Hauler with an 18" extender and had no problems with the five hour drive from San diego. Very Happy with the setup.

Just bought a "new to me" 2006 tc 650. It looks and functions like brand new. Only been out once but very comfortable and easy on the truck (GMC 2500HD). Perfect for us. And quality is all over it.

We brought home our new 2011 Northstar 850SC from A&M Services in Kittrell, NC six weeks ago. After close to a year of online research, phone calls, and good advice, Rita and I feel we have made the right choice to meet our current Camping/Travel needs.

Down sizing from a 5th wheel to a TC didn't take near the adjustment one would expect. After deciding to go with Northstar, we went to the dealer to check them out. I fully expected us to chose a hardwall TC but to both of our "surprise" we both preferred the Pop-Up 850SC. We liked the more openness inside, compared to the hardwall TC, the 360 degree view and ventilation with the zippered windows. I really liked having a metal roof over the rubber roof, the extra 7 inches of interior height when opened, the low profile when closed and lower center of gravity going down the road.

We Just returned from a 12 day, 1,500 mile plus road trip. The 850SC performed flawlessly. The set up and take down time is a snap compared to the 5th wheel. The increased mobility is possibly the greatest advantage. We stayed at camp sites that we could have never considered in the past. It was also great visiting relatives and being able to park in their driveway, sleep in our own bed and not intrude. The cassette toilet is the greatest thing since sliced bread. We are driving a 2007 Chevy 2500HD Duramax 4X4 and averaged a total combined mpg of 17.5, which included a lot of 30-45 mph roads.

We are very satisfied with the after sale support of Mark Mallard and his staff at A&M Services. I am also very impressed with the availability of Rex and Rory Willett of Northstar Campers, their concerns and personal contact with customers with any questions or problem that arise.

We are very pleased and proud to be an owner of a 50th Anniversary Northstar 850SC. Maybe I can get a discount on one of those new hats!

After 5 years of use I can truly say I am VERY satisfied with my Adventurer. We have used it in the coldest of winters and hottest of summer. I always sleep better in my camper than in my house. Thanks Rex!

I love my Northstar camper. It is well equipped and offers comfort and convenience. I've camped in it when it was -19 degrees and stayed nice and toasty. The best on the market!

We have a 2006 Northstar 850 SC and love it! Our primary use of it has been in the spring and fall to participate in pointing dog field trials in remote areas with our dogs and horses.

Last summer we took an extended vacation trip out west and found that our Waeco 12-volt refrigerator didn’t stay cold on very warm days but would cool down overnight. After we got home I called Northstar and talked to Rex. He was very thorough in exploring what the problem might be asking me all sorts of questions. It turned out that our unit didn’t have the upper outside vent installed. Rex immediately listed several ways I could get one installed free. As we were going to Iowa in the fall for a dog trial we took the offer to stop by the factory.

When we arrived Rex immediately got our camper in the shop and ? (sorry can’t remember fellows name) started promptly installing the vent. Meanwhile Rex was looking over our camper and calmly peeled off a strip of the caulk on the metal lip on the roof. He explained that I had been tightening the roof clamps too tight and the pressure had caused the caulk beads to begin separating. He then masterfully proceeded to re-caulk the entire roof! Next he noticed where I had clamped the Torklift tie-down too tight and had tried to re-caulk the seam but it wasn’t very masterful and certainly not up to Rex’s standards. He proceeded to re-caulk the whole lower metal edge. Rex obviously takes great pride in the appearance of their wonderful camper line and by time he was done he had caulked nearly every seam on the whole camper!

After replacing some graphics I insisted he had done enough, all I was entitled to was the installation of a vent and they had far exceeded that task. Rex said, “ well if you leave it hear the rest of the day I’ll have it looking like brand new” and he meant it. We declined and went on our way feeling like it was next to new.

Thanks Rex, you people at Northstar sure know what good old fashion customer service is all about!

P.S. The Fridge works great!

I purchased my Northstar Freedom after meeting the Northstar Gang in person. My decision was made by their terrific customer service. I am a full time volunteer for various causes. Many of my work is done in places that do not have accommodations. I chose the Freedom because it is a great full-time camper.

Additionally, it lends itself to easy modification as you will see by one of my changes to allow for office space. Please feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions.

We just wanted to say that our Northstar Igloo camper has really brought our family together and allowed us to enjoy the outdoors. The kids have even named it Polaris :)

We have been boaters for a long time but camping is new to us and we are glad that we can have the shelter that a truck camper provides and still take our boat along with us.

I'm writing to let you know how please we are with our new Northstar Camper. We have had other slide-in's before and the problems we encountered with flimsy construction taught us a few lessons. We knew we were interested only in top quality makes this time around. In addition, my wife has developed some environmental allergies over the last few years, severe enough to produce serious and persistent symptoms. This meant low emissions and off-gassing from plastics, plywood and finishes was also critical consideration for us.

With all this in mind we began visiting various dealers. To our dismay we found that often only five minutes in some of your competitors' campers was enough to make her quite ill. Northstars didn't do that. I'm delighted to tell you that our three day trip produced no problems for her at all. For us this means that we can enjoy our camper immediately without having to wait months for the chemicals to dissipate. It's great to see a manufacturer who takes these considerations into account. We really appreciate it.

36,000 miles, many months over two and a half years, Coast to Coast, border to border including Nova Scotia to California our F250 diesel mounted TC800 has been the perfect adventure touring RV. You can take it places like the Gravely Mountains Northwest of Yellow Stone where no other RV type could climb. Down town Halifax and San Francisco with and RV? No problem with a Northstar!

Prior to purchasing my Northstar, I really studied and compared numerous pickup campers on the market. The Northstar was my #1 selection because it had the most options I was looking for at a dependable price, offered the durability for extreme conditions that I would be exposed to, and looked fantastic on my truck. I plan to really use my Northstar, much more than the average person; so quality was at the top of my priority list. I made the best decision and got the best camper made today.

Just wanted to show you how nice my 850sc looks on my f-250 on a recent turkey scouting trip. I used it for 3 days for the first time and it worked beautifully. Hats off to you and your employees for building such a great product.

I have travelled with this great Northstar 850SC camper in March through New Mexico and Arizona when it was quite cold at night. I appreciated heating with 16,000 BTU Auto Ignition Furnace in in the morning. In August I went through the Black Hills to Sturgies Bike Ralley and Yellowstone and was glad to have a camper which is really self contained.

This trip is in the Southern California mountains that host one of the most incredible single track motocross trails around, usually we ride our bikes up to this upper elevation, approximately 7,000', then we start riding these awesome trails. Most large trucks won't make it, and the road that leads up to this location is only wide enough for small 4wheel trucks. We usually never camp up here in the winter, except now! With this 1997 TC700 camper, with the Arctic-Pak, in below freezing temps. I had to turn off the furnace, because it was like an oven inside, Thank you for producing a product that works for me, I've been looking for something that would be easy, light, and solid, I found the one product that will give us years of service, even though it's 14yrs old, it's still has many years to live on.

Thank You
Eddie

I wanted to put together a base camp rig that would get me to the end of most forest service roads. After months of research the TC650 became first on my list of possible campers. It had everything I needed and was the best choice for all considerations. Space, Layout, Weight/Weight Distribution, Quality of Construction and Resale Value.

OMG; Northstar is one quality unit. We've owned a Coleman pop-up, Fleetwood 28" class C and VW Camp Bus. In the early years I motorcycle camped all over the maritime provences of Canada... this has been a cumalative experience throughout my 32 years of military service living world-wide.

We bought the 2005 model 700 series camper used in Yakama, Wa after a four-state search; it had been used only a few times. I have it on top of a 1993 nissan D-21 truck and both were purchased separately when we moved here (WA) from Japan. We've camped in most National Parks in the NW states of Utah, OR, WA, MT and a couple in Co and AZ. Our unit is personalized with 8"x12" photos of us in different camping units inside behind plexiglass sheets. Perfect for the two of us!

My Northstar TC800XB has been a blast! The quality of construction is phenominal. I had scare last year after finding out I drove 150 miles in the Wyoming wind to find I forgot to put the top down! After close inspection, everything operates as it should and not even a tear was found in the sidewall fabric.

I've had questions concerning this as well as inquiries regarding mounting different racks on the camper. Rory has been extremely helpful, even going as far as to video a camper in the build stage to show me where the most structural integrity is located. Northstar's customer service is above and beyond!
