There are many factors to
consider when purchasing a new camper...
- How do I match the camper I want to the
truck I have?
- Will I have a stable, comfortable and
safe ride?
- Am I going to have control on interstate
highways and back mountain trails?
- Am I getting value and quality in the
camper I want to purchase?
We make
it a priority to listen to customers' concerns
and incorporate them into our designs.
We camp in our own campers with our families
which helps us design the campers with
features that make the most sense.
Northstar is proud of the fact that our
campers are built differently from the
competition. Time tested, sound construction
techniques and quality materials have given
Northstar its reputation.
Over the past three decades, one of Northstar's
best "success indicators" used in measuring performance has been our
rugged design. It has contributed to adding years of enjoyable use of our campers.
We specialize in producing only truck campers.
This helps us offer the best designs. Rather than having research and production
energies expended on the design of fifth wheels, travel trailers, motor homes
and/or vans, we can dedicate our time solely to the truck camper. We strive to build
the high quality campers that our past Northstar customers are accustomed to;
the same quality our new customers expect and deserve when purchasing a Northstar.
We invite your questions, concerns and comments
about Northstar campers. We believe the more you know about Northstar, the easier
your decision will be.

The
Importance of Weight
     Every truck
camper shopper should be interested in how
much a camper weighs, how
that weight compares with the competition, and
should be sure that the weight matches the GVWR
(Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of their truck.
      The certified weight label is
normally located on the back of the truck camper and
lists the total weight with standard equipment,
including
full water and propane tanks, excluding any options. Standard equipment varies
from manufacturer to manufacturer and thereby affects the certified weight.
It is important for the camper shopper to have accurate data
to make the most informed decision. For example, a competitor's pop-up camper
may have a certified weight listing of only 975 pounds, while a Northstar pop-up
is 1,380 pounds. Upon further investigation, the shopper finds the other pop-up
brand does not include a refrigerator or furnace as standard options; may or
may not include jacks; and has a 12 amp converter with 15 amp cord instead of
a 25 amp converter with a 30 amp cord.
Of course, the competitor's certified weight would be less
than a Northstar because the Northstar comes standard with all that equipment
and more. In addition, Northstar lists the weight of all available options so
that
the buyer can keep track of the weight as he customizes the specific options.
Don't be fooled! A Northstar pop-up or hardwall could be up
to 200 pounds heavier than other brands because of the quality of heavier materials
and manufacturing processes used. Every Northstar has a 5/8" premium underlayment
floor and outs (the area that goes over the truck bed), pre-wrapped corners with
galvanized steel, deep storage under the cabovers of pop-ups with the lift-up
portion reinforced on a solid frame... just a few unique features that make a
difference in a Northstar.

CONSTRUCTION & MATERIALS
Whether building a pop-up
or a hardwall Northstar camper, the same construction
philosophy is employed. We search for and purchase
the best materials available. Our trained and
skilled Northstar production staff uses all
premium underlayment plywoods and pine studding
in the
walls and cabinets. These materials are easy
to verify by looking inside our cabinets and
under the seat cushions. We encourage you to
put us to the test.
Craftsmanship combined with quality
material is a winning combination. Our production
process mandates that each and every joint
throughout
the camper is glued together and reinforced with hardened steel screws. Northstar's
are built to last.
Now you have the beginnings of one of the toughest campers
made. During the next phases of construction, foam insulation is hand fit into
place. Wiring, gas and plumbing systems are designed and installed per code
requirements with the utmost care and concern for the user. Go ahead... check
out the inside
of our cabinets to see our sturdy construction methods, sit on the seat cushions
and feel the difference in support. The extra effort we take in quality construction
and premium materials will speak for itself.

BREATH EASIER
That's right! You can breathe
easier in a Northstar camper because we care
about formaldehyde emissions. These emissions
are found in varying levels of concentration
in various underlayment paneling available
for manufacturing. We have chosen a premium underlayment
paneling tested at only .02 parts per million
formaldehyde emissions at a cost more than
double
other available panelings that have a much
higher part per million concentration. We are
decidedly
conscientious about contaminants and their
potential harm on the proud new owner of a Northstar.

INSULATION FOR COMFORT
Good insulation that is installed
properly works well for both the cold and
the heat you may encounter while traveling or
camping.
Northstar's are well insulated for your specific recreational needs. In addition,
we offer optional insulated windows for the hardwalls and the optional Arctic
Pak snap-in insulation kit for the pop-ups; added protection for those
campers who have no boundaries.
